I'm finding a lot of visual inspiration from photographer Aubrie Pick's work. Her food photography is so vibrant and colorful, I feel this is the direction I want to move in for my cookbook. I really like her use of different textures (tiles, concrete, etc.) for the backgrounds, as well as the additional textures she incorporates such as the cooling racks, parchment paper, and cloth napkins. I also enjoy the "lived in" feeling I get when looking at these images. They're very organic in that the plates are overlapping and there are spills and small messes around the food as if things have already been eaten. I want my book to feel organic and natural just as these images are. I also enjoy her warm color palette and use of hard light.
